Vernetta is a Jacksonville native and the founder of Footprints of Angels, a nonprofit organization supporting women impacted by recurrent miscarriages and infertility. In addition to running a nonprofit, Vernetta also owns her own culinary business, serves as the Chef and Culinary Director at The Ronald McDonald House and volunteers with Feeding Northeast Florida. Episode 21: About our Guest

Vernetta Stewart started her culinary career with a drive to gain knowledge. She graduated from culinary school in 2008 with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Management and an Associate’s Degree in Restaurant Management. She became Certified with the American Culinary Federation(ACF). Her culinary career began at Amelia Island Plantation in Amelia Island, FL, a Triple AAA, Four Diamond resort. The experience and knowledge gained from the Amelia Island Plantation enabled Vernetta to open A Cook for You Catering services in 2010. Vernetta 8yr Executive Sous Chef position with Ponte Vedra Inn & Club a Triple AAA Five Diamond resort, allowed her to continually hone her craft. 

In addition to her catering business she is the Chef/Culinary Director for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Jacksonville. Vernetta has been featured in several publications including Edible Magazine, The Buzz, Florida Times Union, Healthy Living, Food, and Southern Living. She was invited to serve as a chef for Super Bowl XLIII 2009 in Tampa, Florida. With over 15 years of culinary experience Vernetta’s passion for culinary continues to thrive.

Vernetta is also  the founder of Footprints of Angels a nonprofit supporting women impacted by infertility. This nonprofit organization provides women with support so they can no longer live in silence and shame. She shares her journey of recurrent miscarriages and becoming the mom of 5 Angel babies.

Vernetta has won the TIAA Bank community champion award and the First Coast News 12 WHO care Award. She has a heart for women trying to conceive after 40.
