Episode 59: About Our Guest

Jennifer Smith is the Founder & CEO of The Giving Closet Project, a nonprofit born from her simple yet powerful idea: turning unclaimed school lost-and-found clothing into hope for youth in need. A former Duval County educator turned social entrepreneur, Jennifer has grown that vision into a movement providing clothing and essentials to over 20,000 homeless and low-income youth throughout Duval and the Palm Beaches. Jennifer is a proud mother of two daughters and a true trailblazer and advocate for our vulnerable communities.
Episode 59: The Giving Closet Project

The Giving Closet Project’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty by providing the physiological needs of clothing, hygiene and other basic essentials to Florida students experiencing homelessness and poverty via a network of 50+ social service agencies and two large school districts. Our referral-based service provides custom care packages to students in need in a discreet and dignified manner. Referrals are submitted daily by case managers, counselors, social workers, and other personnel that work directly with students and families through school communities and social service agencies.
